2 Timothy 3:14-17 ESV
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
The scriptures are as gold to those who seek to please the Lord. In these scriptues is life and death, wisdom and folly. light and darkness, joy and dispair. This is bread to nourish our very souls.
Look. I know the scriptures can be complicated. I know that we do not fully understand all that we read in the scriptures. But none of that changes the fact that God has given us these scriptures to equip us for His good pleasure. God speaks to us in many ways. He provides for us in every way. But there is no clearer word from God than these Holy Scriptures. The scriptures are complete. They are perfect. They tell us how to please God. The Word is living. Read the scriptures. Consume them. Meditate on them. You will find what you need. This the first and best way to prepare yourself to serve God. There is no greater purpose on earth than to serve God in heaven.
