#bondagefromourfather Canonical Bible Reading day 115 / 2 Kings 12-14

2Ki 14:24 24 And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. He did not depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin. http://olivetree.com/b3/2Ki.14.24.ESV

Jeroboam was a king that left his legacy. Not only did he do evil before the Lord, but he established evil from generation to generation. It says this same thing king after king in Israel, “and he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. He did not depart from all the sins of Jeroboam.” It is amazing the things that can be passed down to future generations. If a man (or a woman) does what is evil during the raising of his children, those children though they may be determined that they will not repeat the evil, the evil is what they have been taught. That works against them in conjunction with the propensity toward evil that we all possess. It is not enough to want to avoid doing what is evil. For holiness and purity are so much more than just the avoiding of wickedness. These can only occur through the redeeming power of the blood of Jesus. Ask Jesus continually to cleanse you, to purify you, to transform you and He will not deny you this. He can break the bondage that has been passed to you from your father and your mother. He can and He will make all things new.
